Link Popularity
The definition of link popularity is how many people are linking to your site, Remember with the Google ranking system Google specifically looks at how many quality links are directed at your website, so the more the better. If you run your link popularity test like I will explain in a few minutes and you are disappointed don’t be because this is very easy to fix with a little bit of hard work on your side. 1.Getting your site ready:
First off you need to take a couple of days and make sure you site Is ready for internet promotion and link exchange. And what I mean by that is that your site is complete, easy to navigate, no broken graphics, links or WebPages. You want to look at your site as a potential visitor or customer, is your site appealing, look professional, a complete site with no broken links or hard to navigate pages? 2. Goal Setting: Ok now we have our website ready to go, let’s set yourself realistic goals for how many link exchanges you will do on a daily or weekly basis. You do not want to overwhelm yourself and make yourself give up. Remember when adding your links that you are linking to other quality sites like yours, you want their site to be professional, clean and easy to navigate also. Keep a chart of whom you have asked to exchange with so you are not duplicating requests also so you can go back and check in a couple of days to see if they added your link exchange to their site.
3. Link Building: Remember the China Wall was not built in one night and neither will your link exchanges but by taking some of your free time each week to dedicate to quality link exchanges you could have hundreds of quality links within a few months. Just have to keep at it and don’t get discouraged. 4. Check your popularity:
DO you know how many sites are linking to you? Or how you sit with the major search engines? I have to admit I checked my graphics sites for the first time in six months and I was so pleased that my links and popularity have more than doubled in the last six months due to my hard work in link exchanging and hardwork. SO it goes to show you if I can do it so can you! I recommend that you visit a site called sumitexpress.com on the front page you will see where it asks for your URL address what it is going to do is check your link popularity and it breaks it down for you in color coated chart that is easy to read! Write down those stastics or print them off and double check your stats in six months and see if you made a huge difference. You can go to Alexa and check your ranking there or go to googlerankings.com to check your Google ranking! For example my graphics site is a 4 sometimes a 5 and that is a fantastic Google ranking! 5. Develop Link Partners:
Last but not least if you have friends who are in the same field as you ask them to partner with you! What that means is simply email them asking that you exchange links on your sites. You can do this by simply exchanging text links or by exchanging banner links, however text links are picked up much easier by the major search engines. Remember to only exchange links with like minded businesses, meaning you would not want to exchange links with a automotive service if you sell candles. Try to keep your links related to products and services that you offer. |
